Lingerie Lifestyle ~ Eat Pray Love

The much loved book, Eat Pray Love, written by Elizabeth Gilbert, has inspired women to live their truths, no matter how difficult the journey. An anonymous quote states, "It isn't the end of the journey that matters, it's the journey that matters in the end." In line with this time tested quote, Gilbert's book takes the reader on a visual and sensory experience that proves it is the journey that matters.

Gilbert writes about her break up with her husband, taking on an assignment to write a novel. She plans this trip around Italy, India and Bali, unsure of what will come out of the journey or what she'll write about while traveling. Instead of having a pre-set notion of where the story will go, Gilbert lets the journey take her where she needs to go and grow.

Being a lingerista through and through, my favorite part of the book takes place in Italy when Gilbert buys luxurious, silky Italian lingerie. Even though she's alone and sad with no hope of a romance, she indulges in the lingerie because it inspires her.

(Cosabella and La Perla {lingerie in the image above}, my two favorite Italian lingerie lines, specialize in luxurious lingerie that makes women look and feel their best...as well as incredibly sexy!)

For me, Gilbert buying lingerie, even though she was without romantic prospect, sums up everything that we need to know about lingerie and why we love it. Lingerie changes our moods, outlook on life, transforms us into secret goddesses that we know exist outwardly or inwardly. If nothing more, we buy lingerie for ourselves and how it makes us feel.

People were so inspired by Gilbert's book that Eat Pray Love is now a film being released on August 13, 2010.

Above all, my dear, Lingeristas, enjoy life. Every moment of it. That is what makes the journey worth it!
