Boutique of the Month ~ Vionnet

Vionnet, our September Boutique of the Month, was named after Madeleine Vionnet, a French designer from the turn of the 20th century, who invented the bias cut and was considered an "architect among dressmakers."

Today, the Vionnet boutique in Los Angeles is the sister store to Curve (next door), a high end, flouncy feminine clothing store featuring Burberry, Trosman Churba and local up-and-coming designers.

Vionnet is transitioning away from exclusively carrying lingerie so it's currently featuring a smaller selection of pretty La Perla, Eberjey, and Belabumbum delicates. After visiting Vionnet, we popped into Curve to find out the differences in the stores.

We were surprised and excited to find that Curve carries a larger line of lingerie than Vionnet. It consisted of VPL by Victoria Bartlett, a fun, inner/outer wear lingerie line (see images below). These pieces had us head over heals and searching the store for more. VPL ended up being the unknown jewel we discovered on this trip!
VPL bras run from $85-175 and panties from $70-125. If you like VPL, you can also purchase it online at VPL/Shopbop or www.shopbop.com. For more information on VPL, go to their website at www.vplnyc.com.

If you visit either Vionnet or Curve in Los Angeles, be sure to get directions ahead of time or remember that they're located at the cross of Robertson and Beverly. They're in the trendy, upscale boutique section of town. There are a couple other 150-158 N. Robertsons South of Vionnet's location, so don't be fooled like we were at first. Remember the cross streets and you'll be fine.
