Coco Chanel Movie

Premiering September 13th at 8 p.m. (EST and PST), Shirley MacLaine stars as the fashion icon, Coco Chanel, in the Lifetime Movie, "Coco Chanel." Both women are long known for strength, determination, and being legends in their respective fields of work.

Lifetime states, "'Coco Chanel' is the rags-to-riches tale charting the rise of one of the most influential fashion icons of the 20th century. From her humble childhood in a French orphanage, through her early days as a young dressmaker's assistant, to her passionate and tragic love with a dashing Englishman, and ultimately to her success as a pioneering icon, 'Coco Chanel' is the story of a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore...."

When asked by the LA Times, "What did you find most fascinating about Coco Chanel?," Shirely MacLaine said, "Her contradictions. Her conflict between love and ambition. She never married. She was rude, hurtful. Many men were in love with her -- though I don't know why, because she was impossible. She was 73 when she got so popular, and she was always reinventing herself. I like that."

In terms of Chanel lingerie, the closest I could find online were some imitations. A close friend of mine worked for Chanel, she attests that the only Chanel intimates are Lagerfield's swimwear, hosiery, tights, and a few pieces "close" to intimates but "not a full line."

Inspired by the upcoming film, I'm bringing you, my dear Lingeristas, an enticing, inside look at Keira Knightly filming the Chanel perfume ad in Chanel's luxurious apartment.

Keira looks stunning in a red silk sheath dress (image below). What kind of lingerie should a woman wear with such a dress? It's recommended to either wear Commando panties (image right), for a seamless effect, or none at all...just some Chanel Number 5 behind your neck.

Coco Chanel was one woman who celebrated her inner eve and helped other women celebrate theirs too through timeless elegance and stylish designs.
