Bra Testimonials: Online Bra Fitting
"I wanted to say thanks for the customized bra fitting page. I have spent 20 years frustrated with finding bras. I figured because I was small I should be wearing the smallest bra made. I fought with puckering and tight fitting bras until I just figured I had to suffer with awful bras forever. I never thought about going from a 34AA to a 32B because I didn't think I had enough to fill the cups. Thank you for opening my eyes to the possibilities. I went bra shopping today and found great bras. Now I don't have to squeeze by breasts into odd positions and the band sits on the breastbone like it should. Too bad I had to wait so many years to realize I could go up a cup. Keep up the great advice."

Teaching my Daughter about Boobs
Kind of a funny title for a blog post right?
Frankly, I never thought I would write about teaching my daughter about boobs and bras, but this seems to be the most fitting venue.
My daughter has been fascinated by my undergarments since she was a toddler. She has worn them on her head. She has tried them on, and I’ve had to chase her to get my bras back. I suppose seeing your mother put on a relatively strange contraption over her chest can be awfully compelling for a two year old. She has always been curious about everything. She has always been full of questions. I've always held the attitude that children shouldn't be lied too. My daughter is too smart for that anyway. I tell my daughter the absolute truth about most things -- if I feel it is appropriate.
So when the question about my bra came up the answer was simple. My bra holds up my boobs.
Isn't that what it does essentially?
Wacoal T-Bra Push Up Bra, $48
Of course that wasn’t good enough.
She needs to know everything about everything. She then asked, “What do boobs do?”. Well that gets to be a little more complicated. Here is essentially what I told her: Boobs provide milk for babies. When you and your brother were babies I nursed you which means I fed you milk from my boobs. In my opinion, this is the best answer to her question. I’d love for her to grow up with idea that her breasts were given to her for a purpose not to enhance her sexuality, even if she never breastfeeds a baby.
Now that she is a little older she likes watching me dress and seeing what outfits I put together and what underwear I wear. She often says, “Ooh Mommy, I like your underwear, it’s so pretty!”

Eve's Apples Gives Bra Tips to Cosmopolitan Magazine
READ ALL ABOUT 'GETTING YOUR IDEAL BRA'!

Now in the February 2011 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine US (with Mila Kunis on the cover), Eve's Apples' bra expert gives shopping tips on getting your best bra in The A-Cup Revolution by Mina Azodi, Senior Editor at Cosmo. The top four shopping tips for small breasts are:
1. Try a Demi Cup Bra
Demi Cups look great on women who have small busts, especially shallow breast tissue on top of the bust. Most women think they're small busted because they have shallow breast tissue. We love that Mina Azodi highlighted the importance of breast tissue. Mina wrote that, "Small breasts are typically larger on top than on the bottom, so this low scooping style (demi cup) gives just the right amount of support where you need it."
2. Go Tighter
Most women are wearing a band size too big! "Eighty percent of your bra is held in place by the band (not the straps), so it should be a snug fit. A good rule of thumb: You should be able to fit only two fingers between the band and your skin."

3. Eyeball the Underwire
Red Flag: This is SO important because most women are wearing are bra cup that is too small. Most bra consultations I give people have issues with the underwire cutting into the breast tissue, making the bra cup pucker away from the breast, similar to doing a peek-a-boo affect. Most women think that the bra cup is too big. Untrue, the bra cup is too small!
"If you aren't filling out the bra, double-check that the underwire is framing your boobs, not cutting them off. Otherwise, you may need to go up a size for a wider cup."
4. Check Out Your Profile
Turn to your side and raise your arms above your head. If the back of the band moves up, it's too big. It should be even all the way around your torso. Still frustrated on getting a bra that fits like a dream?

Common Bra Problems Resolved: Cup-Tastrify
Let’s face it. It’s depressing not finding a bra that fits and laboring under the misconception your bra cup, which keeps gapping, is too big for you. So when you find out that you need a larger cup size, it’s enough to make you to want to throw a parade in your own honor.
MYTH
Small breasts mean that I wear an AA or an A cup.
TRUTH
All small breasts are unique. There are small breasts that fit an AA or A cup AND there are small breasts that fit a B or C cup.
The cup size is dependent upon two factors:
- Fullness of Breast Tissue
- Width of Individual Breast
Fullness of Breast Tissue dictates how the breast will fill out a bra cup.
Many women with shallow and medium breast tissue think that they have cup sizes smaller than their true size due to the fact that their breast tissue isn’t full. Consequently, many women with shallow breast tissue think that they’re an AA or A cup, only to find out that they’re a B or C cup.
(The above 32B bras are Blush Coquette Bra, left, on a shallow breast tissue body type and The Little Bra Company Isis Push Up Bra, right, on a full breast tissue body type.)
For example, two women wearing the same 32B soft cup bra have different results. One woman has cleavage while the other woman does not. The woman with full breast tissue has more tissue on the top of the breast, allowing for her breasts to create cleavage. Whereas, the woman with shallow breast tissue, due to a slopping affect of tissue on top of breast or deflation from pregnancy, will fill out the bra cup enough for a good fit but not allowing for cleavage. If she wants cleavage, she’ll need a plunge bra, demi cup bra, push up bra or will need to use bra inserts. Both women wear a 32B, but the fullness of their breast tissue fills out the bra differently.
Width of Breast Tissue dictates the cup size that is needed. What is the width? It’s just under the fold of the breast and is where the underwire on the bra fits. How do you know if you need to go up a cup size?
- If all of your breast tissue isn’t fitting into the cup, then you need to go up a cup size.
- If a bra looks like it fits but your breasts are squished to the center, causing your upper body to look excessively wide with the bra on, then you need to go up a cup size.
- If your bra cup is gapping then you need to go up a cup size.

Lingerie Model Secrets: Part 1 ~ Gisele
...“I am a huge fan of big cotton underpants; they’re comfortable,” (Gisele) says. “I wear them every day.” (Note: In Brazilianspeak, “big” is equivalent to a bikini cut, not granny panties.) Despite her enviable figure, Bündchen gets butterflies before baring it on the catwalk. “No matter how many shows I’ve done, as soon as they say it’s time to start, I get that nervous sensation and feel like I have to pee,” she says. “So that’s where my mind is. That and making it to the end of the runway and back as fast as I can.”
First things first. What’s the key to looking fantastic in photos? It’s all about the light. Always face it, because that’s how you give your face good angles. If you’re outside when the sun is overhead, you’re going to have dark circles from the sun creating shadows on your face. So no outdoor pictures between 12 and two!
...Anything else?
If you’re wearing smoky eye makeup, a little beige or gold pencil on the inner eye corners will open up the area, but you only want to do it if the shadow is really dark. Otherwise, light pencil makes your eyes look too far apart, like a fish. And I put black mascara on my top and bottom lashes because I have tiny little hamster eyes. With mascara, they seem larger...
Deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, braces….
I wear clear Invisalign braces at night. One of my teeth was moving. A photographer was using a side light, which created a shadow across my mouth. I saw a Polaroid, and it looked like I had no tooth! So I went to the dentist and got Invisaligns.
I love outdoor sports, like volleyball, and I play them whenever I can. But my secret is that I watch TV maybe twice a year. I’m not a potato sack; I’ve never sat on my couch. If I’m home, I’m cleaning, feeding my dogs, doing stuff. Life is too precious to waste time.
I don’t do much. I wash it, but I don’t own a brush. When the ends get frizzy, I apply a little bit of Victoria’s Secret shine serum to them. Then my hair looks done.
I’ve always attempted to do my own lashes because it’s hard for me to have somebody with a wand right near my eye. I have blond, invisible eyebrows, so I try to make them with this gray-brown pencil from Pout, Blonde Bombshell.
Lace is very sexy, and I like a demi-bra because it gives you a little lift. If you’re wearing lace, you should have small underwear, but they make lacy big ones, too.

The Quotable Lingerista: Kate Moss
Kate Moss, Eve's Apples Quotable Lingerista for October says women should always dress for their body shape: "If you have great legs, show them off with a short dress and heels or skinny jeans...If you've got a large bust, avoid high necklines. I don't think of things as outfits, I throw together what I feel is right for the night...I follow my feelings and just get dressed. I go with a feeling or emotion and don't necessarily plan, unless perhaps, it's a special occasion."
That is great advice from Kate! Always wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, sexy and confident, that is what Celebrating Your Inner Eve is all about!
