It's apple season!

With the abundance of apples, everyone, including us at Eve's Apples, is finding every conceivable way to prepare, serve and eat apples. Whether you like Red Delicious, Gala, Duchess, Empress, Fuji or countless others, Southern Living has 21 succulent and healthy Apple Recipes for you. Thanks to Good Health telling us about these recipes on twitter!

Some Eve favorites are Double Apple Pie with Cornmeal Crust and Quick Apple Dumplings for healthier options. However, if you want to indulge a little in your sinful side, take a look at Easy Cornbread Sausage Stuffed Apples and Chunky Apple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. If only there was a way to make cream cheese frosting taste so incredibly divine without all the cream cheese....

Oh well, didn't the doctor say something about moderation too?


EASY APPLE DUMPLING RECIPE

From Southern Living, September 2001

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, divided
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup sugar
2 (15-ounce) packages refrigerated pie crusts
8 medium Braeburn apples, peeled and cored*
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut up
Vanilla ice cream (optional)

PREPARATION

Bring 1 1/2 cups sugar, 2 cups water, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in 1/4 cup butter. Set syrup aside.

Combine 2/3 cup sugar, remaining 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg.
Cut pie crusts in half, and roll into 8-inch circles. Place 1 apple in center of each circle. Sprinkle each evenly with sugar mixture; dot evenly with 3 tablespoons butter.

Fold dough over apples, pinching to seal. Place in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.

Drizzle with syrup.

Bake at 375° for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

*Golden Delicious or Granny Smith apples may be substituted.

Last Friday, we launched our Eve's Apples "Behind the Scenes Series" to give our readers some insight into what it takes to have a successful lingerie shoot and runway show.

This week we bring you our second video, featuring Stella McCartney Lingerie (video below).

After our Eve's Apples photo shoot last weekend, I found it even more interesting to watch behind the scenes footage. It allows us to see all of the work and energy that goes into a shoot. We, the consumers, generally just see the finished product, not knowing the number of hours and people it takes to make a smooth transition from concept, to undeveloped film, to runway, to magazine, or to television!
