Breast Changes During Pregnancy

By Julie

There are a lot of unwelcome symptoms that occur during pregnancy. Morning sickness always tops the list. Heartburn, constipation, hemorrhoids to name a few more. Some women don’t experience any symptoms (Lucky!) but it is normal to experience a wide variety of symptoms from the nauseating to the thrilling.

One symptom women with smallbreasts sometimes look forward to is the changes in breast size. You discover you are pregnant then one day you look down and BAM! your chest is twice the size than it was before. Breasts begin growing around the 6 to 8 week mark of pregnancy. As they grow they can become sore and stretch marks can appear. Your breasts are preparing for breastfeeding while you are pregnant whether you end up nursing or not..

The best thing you can do for your breasts during pregnancy is to purchase a bra that fits. Get fitted by an expert or use Eves Apples Custom Bra Fit Consultation. Purchasing a bra a size up to allow for growth is also a good idea. That way you will have plenty of room to grow (which you will).  A bra without an underwire will be more comfortable than one with an underwire. Choose your fabric wisely as well. A nice soft cotton bra will be less irritating on those sensitive nipples of pregnancy.

As you grow, you might want to invest in a maternity bra that will double as a nursing bra after the baby arrives. Motherhood Maternity has excellent choices in nursing bras and sleeping maternity bras.
