Some
of the most precious gems in life aren’t objects but memories instead. The Keep Me bra ($42) calls for a comfortable jaunt down memory lane.
Memories
of grandma baking are my favorite childhood moments. Propped on the counter as
she whipped up delicious cookies, allowing me to lick the spoon
occasionally—these are the memories I cherish the most.
Chocolate
chip cookies being a special portal to those afternoons with grandma.
Here
is a far less fussy version of Grandma’s Cookies:
Ingredients
1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate
chips
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350
degrees F
2. Cream together the
butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a
time, then
stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to
batter along with salt. Stir in flour and chocolate
chips. Drop by large
spoonfuls onto ungreased pans (makes 24).
Bake
for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
Sometimes
nothing tastes sweeter than a memory.
